This model has been developed to support workforce transformation and to ensure that resources are used in the best possible way to achieve better outcomes for people with care and support needs and their carers and families in the context of the care and support reforms.
The workforce capacity planning model puts the person at the centre and is set out as six inter-linked activities that use a set of enabling questions to identify workforce capacity issues. There are also prompts and tips and resources to help you apply each part of the model.
The activities can be undertaken in the order set out, or in which ever order seems most effective to the user, but it is important to consider each activity as part of the workforce capacity planning process. Prevention, integration and wellbeing also need to be considered throughout the development of a workforce capacity plan.
