Straight talking groups
Getting to the heart of the matter, run by clinical experts
Newspapers. Articles. Friendsโ opinions. Online forums. Despite this, especially, when it comes to your wellbeing, you need something more. You want to hear from the experts. Thatโs where Hiyos Live comes in.
We have run NHS patient participation groups and learnt lots of ways to improve the service we provide. Given that, we like a challenge, we though, why not innovate and bring patients groups together and use that for learning? We run interactive webinars and group consultationsโonline and face-to-faceโthat put tough questions to those in the know, opening up honest conversations about the social, mental and physical issues affecting your health. Whether youโre living with diabetes, asthma, or facing mental health challenges, these sessions create a supportive, empathetic space where you can meet others with the same condition, share your story, learn from their experiences, and feel a little less alone. We can offer you appointments for group sessions.

Joining groups can make a real difference
Diabetes
Emotional support
Being with others who โget itโ can ease feelings of isolation and provide understanding that goes beyond what you might get in a standard appointment.
Real-world knowledge
Group sessions are a great place to swap practical tips, ask questions, and learn from othersโ dayโtoโday experiences of managing diabetes.
Motivation and confidence
Seeing how others overcome setbacks and successfully manage their condition can be hugely encouraging, helping you feel more positive and in control of your own health.
Asthma
Practical skill-building
A chance to learn and practise key skills, like correct inhaler technique, spacer use and simple breathing exercises, so you feel more confident managing symptoms.
Everyday coping strategies
Space to share what really helps with triggers, flareโups and dayโtoโday life, and to pick up ideas from others who understand what youโre going through.
Emotional and psychological support
A safe, non-judgemental environment to talk about worries or frustrations, and feel heard, understood and supported by people in a similar situation.

Mental health
Less stigma, more understanding
Seeing people from all walks of life talk openly about their mental health helps challenge myths and shows youโre far from alone.
Genuine peer connection
Sharing experiences with others who โget itโ can create a powerful sense of understanding, belonging and mutual support.
Holistic, practical support
In addition, any medication or therapy, groups give space to explore lifestyle changes, stressโmanagement tools and selfโcare practices together, so you can find what works for you in real life.
Summary
Both online and face-to-face settings, the power of group consultations lies in their ability to create a compassionate community, where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to take control of their health.
To sum it up, participants working together become allies in the journey towards improved well-being, proving that strength truly lies in unity.
