Hey there! ๐Ÿ˜Š At Hiyos, we’ve got loads of appointments with really great doctors and other health experts. We’ve got a great team at our place! Being unwell can be stressful, but don’t worry, we’re here to help you out. We’re open every single day of the week, including Saturday and Sunday too.

When you contact us access NHS services, we promise to do our absolute best to take care of anything you need. We’re all about making sure you get the best care possible. So, feel free to access at anytime! ๐ŸŒŸ

Our practice treats everyone fairly, kindly and respectfully.  Likewise, you should also treat staff with respect.  The practice can remove patients from their list if they are violent or abusive to staff.

Who

Before we can see you, you will need to be registered.

If you are 16 or older, you can make and go to appointments by yourself. If you are under 16, you can still ask to see a GP without your parent or guardian. The GP will decide if thatโ€™s appropriate for you.

NHS GP services are free.  Sometimes, if you ask the GP to do private work (like writing a letter for insurance), there may be a fee. We can only do these if there is capacity.

If you do not speak English, you can ask for interpretation services in your preferred language when you make an appointment.

If you need extra help like longer appointments, a quiet space, wheelchair access, or information in a different format, let us know and we’ll do our best to help.โœจ

How

Guess what? You can meet with the doctors and other clinicians in three different ways:

You can contact us between 8.00am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. We also have pre-booked appointments on Saturday and Sunday. These are released on Friday.

Throughout these hours you, or your carer on your behalf, can:

  • Can use the NHS App make sure you create an account!
  • Call us on 0208 630 1111 or
  • Visit the practice

Lately, we’ve been leaning towards face-to-face appointments, but hey, it’s totally up to you. Sometimes we do need to see you, so online messages and phone calls are not a safe way to help you.

Here’s the exciting part: we’re hosting face to face or virtual group sessions where you can meet other people and share your stories. Trust us, they’re a blast It’s like a little party where everyone understands what you’re going through!

What happens when you contact your practice to request an appointment?

Whether you make your request by phone, on-line or visiting your practice, you may be asked to give us some details so that we can assess what is best for you based on your clinical need. The practice team will consider your request for an appointment or medical advice and tell you within one working day what will happen next.

This could be:

  • An appointment that day or a subsequent day
  • A phone call that day or a subsequent day
  • A text message responding to your query
  • Advice to go to a pharmacy or another NHS service.

Your practice will decide what is best for you based on your clinical need.

We will not tell you to just call back the next day.

Other helpful info

If you have problems with your vision, it may be useful to get a sight test. You can use this link to find a local optician and see if you are eligible for a free test.

If you have a problem with your teeth or gums, it is best that you are seen by a dentist. We are fortunate to have NHS dentists locally, who are registering new patients.

If you need urgent help for your physical or mental health when the practice is closed, and you cannot wait until we open, go online to 111.nhs.uk or call 111. They will tell you what to do next.

What if itโ€™s an emergency?

How can you help us

  1. Be prepared: Before an appointment, think about writing down your symptoms, what you are worried about and what you want to talk about.
  2. Be on time: Being late for an appointment or being unavailable for a timed call-back can affect other patients.
  3. Cancel if needed: If you canโ€™t go to your appointment, tell the practice as soon as you can, so that we can offer it to someone else.
  4. Use the NHS App or website: Create an account, if youโ€™re confident using smart phones or computers, you can book or cancel appointments, order repeat prescriptions, and see your test results online.
  5. Turn on notifications: If you use the NHS App, turn on notifications so we can contact you more easily.  Please keep an eye out for messages.
  6. Order repeat medicines on time: Make sure you ask for repeat prescriptions on time, so you donโ€™t run out, and only order what you need.
  7. Join the Patient Participation Group: You practice will have a group of patients who can offer feedback on the services it delivers. Your practice website should explain how you can join.
